Lichens of the Mayacamas

Join Shelly Benson, president of the California Lichen Society, for a lichen hike at the Modini Mayacamas Preserve on April 30,2016. Shelly will explain what lichens are and point out examples of different lichen growth forms and structures.  We’ll hike at a leisurely pace, talking about where to look for lichens, lichen ecology, and why lichens are important.  We’ll have lunch with lichens and views on the top of Redhill.

Remember to bring a hand lens so you can appreciate the finer details of lichens.  Bring lunch and water too!
