Lace lichen (Ramalina menziesii) officially becomes the CA state lichen on New Year’s Day. So, after the New Year’s parties have died down, join the California Lichen Society for a leisurely stroll through a blue oak woodland to admire this amazing lichen. We will attempt to capture the grace and beauty of our state lichen using photography. Shelly will lead us to the lichens and we can all share our tips and tricks for photography (note: we won’t have a photography instructor). The lace lichen at this location has well-developed lacy lobes with splendidly intricate patterns. So grab your camera gear and get out to shoot some lichens!
