San Francisco Lichen Workshop at SFSU

There will be a workshop 6PM to 10PM, Friday, 30 May, at Hensil Hall, room 401, at San Francisco State University, (19th Ave. at Holloway) San Francisco.

CALS’ Tom Carlberg will lead the group in lichen identifications, with an assist from Miko Nadel, CALS member and staff at SFSU.  The workshop will be far more interesting to all if you bring puzzling specimens with you.

CALS’ Mikki McGee will make a presentation of the setup of various microscopes, including the University’s fine Olympus scopes, and work to help resolve problems in cutting sections and making usable microscope mountings. Some CDs showing pictures of sectioning methods will be available.

Access to the identified herbarium lichen collection may be available for observation and comparison.

RSVP – If you wish to attend please advise us by e-mail or phone, so we can make provisions for the attendees.  Details of access and parking will be provided.  Our coordinator is Mikki McGee   415-467-5285  Mikkimc@earthlink.net.
