Shelly Benson will be this month’s guest speaker at the Marin Chapter, California Native Plant Society (CNPS) meeting. The title of her talk is: Lichens–indicators of air quality and climate
The talk begins at 8:00 PM, November 11th, at The Redwoods, 40 Camino Alto, Mill Valley. The lecture is open to the public.
The following Wednesday, November 13th, Shelly will lead a CNPS sponsored lichen walk at Point Reyes National Seashore. The walk is also open to the public, no reservations are needed. Shelly will lead the group through a mature stand of coyote brush on Mt Vision to view the amazing display of cyanolichens. Don’t know what cyanolichens are? Come on this walk and learn more!
Meet at the parking area at the end of Mt Vision Road. The walk is from 10:00-2:00 on November 13th.
