The Mycological Society of San Francisco has invited CALS to participate in a field trip to Lichen Rock on San Bruno Mt
It will be held Saturday Morning, 22 Oct. 2011, followed immediately by an afternoon identification session in 401 Hensil Hall, San Francisco State University. The area is rich in chaparral and rock loving lichen, and needs to be catalogued. It has not been explored properly, if at all for mushrooms or other fungi.

The field portion of the trip will run from 9:00-11:30AM, lab portion from 12:00-4:00PM. Bring your dissecting tools and any keys that cover the local area if you have them.
Meet in the parking lot just within the entry kiosk off Guadelupe Canyon Road at 0930. Approaches are from Bayshore Blvd., Brisbane, (Cow Palace Exit, 101), and the road extends directly east from East Market St, Colma/Daly City (Eastmoor exit from 280.)
