The Milo Baker chapter of the California Native Plant Society will be hosting a lichen walk July 30, 2011. Join Shelly Benson for an introduction to the lichen world. Shelly will lead a walk through Helen Putnam Regional Park in Petaluma, CA. She will give an overview of lichen anatomy, point out the diversity of lichen growth forms, and explore the lichen ecology of the park. Remember to bring your hand lense so you can truly appreciate the fine details.
